Central Illinois Security (CIS) is an established Alarm Installation and Monitoring Company. Central Illinois Security (CIS) is seeking an overnight full-time Central Station Operator to join our Central Station Team in Springfield, IL. In this role, you will be a front-line representative for CIS working on the 3rd shift (11:00 pm – 7:00 am). The days of the week that the hired individual will work may vary, but at least 30-35 hours per week are guaranteed. This is considered a full-time position and is eligible for benefits. This is a 24/7/365 facility, which will require weekend availability and occasional holidays. The compensation package includes an hourly wage + paid overtime, paid time off, double pay for holidays (applicable if you work on the holiday), full benefits, and 401k matching. Other perks of this position would include access to our 24-hour health club onsite and a casual work environment. Duties and Responsibilities Promptly responding to alarms by making phone calls to businesses and homeowners Notifying appropriate authorities in emergency situations Professionally and efficiently answering incoming calls on a multi-line phone system Providing excellent customer service Routing calls to appropriate extension/personnel Taking accurate and detailed messages Assisting with invoice mailings Greeting visitors via video intercom Candidate Requirements Once you have been hired, you must obtain a PERC card, which will require fingerprinting and background checks at both the state and federal levels. CIS will coordinate and pay to obtain this certification. You must be at least 18 years of age. You must be available to work the 3rd shift (11:00 pm to 7:00 am) during the week, some weekends, and holidays. You must have permanent authorization to work in the USA. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Service Technician. You will service, maintain, or repair systems and equipment for security, fire, card access, CCTV wiring, home automation, and video/audio conferencing. You will also ensure that your work is in accordance with relevant codes. We are expanding our geographic reach so this candidate could reside in the Springfield, IL, Decatur, IL, or Champaign, IL area. Job Tasks Examine systems to locate problems, such as loose connections or broken insulation. Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features to ensure proper functioning and diagnose malfunctions. Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components. Service, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans. Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping. Adjust the sensitivity of units based on room structures and manufacturers’ recommendations using programming keypads. Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications. Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, or floors. Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms. Prepare documents, such as invoices or warranties. Consult with clients to assess risks and determine security requirements. Order replacement parts. Keep informed of new products and developments. Mount raceways and conduits and fasten wires to wood framing using staplers. Applicant Requirements Two years of experience in Security Systems, Fire Alarms, CCTV, or Card Access. Two years of experience with HVAC, electronics, or construction will also be considered. Valid driver’s license. Successfully pass a background screening and drug testing. Must be able to lift cable spools weighing 30 pounds. Flexible to work some evenings and weekends. Networking experience would make you a stronger candidate.
